Antony Parker

Estate and Operations Manager

Tony has a background in sales, marketing and finance. Having started as a volunteer with the animal care team, he later progressed to a paid position working with the animals. He has since transferred to the office team as the Estate and Operations Manager, and now has the responsibility of ensuring that the sanctuary runs smoothly on a day to day basis.

Tony says, "I never expected to work with animals, however it is one of the most enjoyable jobs I've ever had. It's a pleasure to come to work every day."

Joanne Rhys-Evans

Animal Welfare Manager

Joanne became a member of staff in 2003 following a career in hairdressing. Joanne says "I wanted a new and rewarding career in animal rescue." Joanne has knowledge of all species of animals at the sanctuary but has a particular interest in pigs. Her favourite part of the day is contributing to improving the lives of all animals.

Annette Hale

Assistant Animal Welfare Manager

Annette started helping at the sanctuary as a volunteer in 1999 and became the first employee of All Creatures Great and Small in 2001. She has a level 2 NVQ in animal care and is passionate about the welfare of all animals from hens to horses. Annette says "My favourite part of the day is hearing happy updates from the animals that have found their loving forever homes."

Rachel Day

Marketing/Campaigns/Media Officer and Fundraising

Rachel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Winchester and has developed a number of valuable skills from working in customer service, marketing, events organising and education. She has been a member of the office team since September 2016 having volunteered as a fundraiser between 2013 and 2014. Her favourite aspect of the job is creating new campaigns and events that will appeal to the public and help generate more income. Rachel deeply cares about the welfare of all animals. "I hope to make more people aware of the sanctuary and the fantastic work it has done and continues to do."

Emma Jones

Administration Officer

Emma graduated with a media based degree from the University of Southampton. She started volunteering at the Sanctuary in 2015, progressing to joining the team a year later. Emma is a passionate advocate of animal welfare and loves cats, rats, bats and anything else that rhymes.

Chris Bennett

Animal Welfare Assistant

Chris joined the team in 2006 after seeking a change in his career. He has studied an NVQ in animal care and has a particular interest in dogs. Chris says "I enjoy participating in the sanctuary's rehoming programme and have a passion for ensuring the sanctuary maintains a high standard of cleanliness."

Ben Merrick

Animal Welfare Assistant

Ben started volunteering at the sanctuary in summer 2013 and progressed later that year into becoming a member of staff. Ben continues to develop his knowledge and experience in the field of animal welfare and is currently studying towards gaining a qualification in animal care. Ben says "I have a particular interest in our canine friends but I'm looking forward to broadening my knowledge of the animal kingdom."

Louise Kilby

Animal Welfare Assistant

Louise secured a position at the sanctuary as an animal carer in 2017. Louise enjoys helping all the animals but her particular area of expertise is horses and ponies.

Becky Hayes

Animal Welfare Assistant

Becky started volunteering with the sanctuary as an animal carer and was offered a position a year later. She hopes to gain more experience within the area of animal welfare and will undertake relevant qualifications and training to further her career.

Clare Davies

Plant Centre Officer

Clare started as a volunteer in 2015 in our sanctuary's plant centre. Proving to be an invaluable member of the team she became employed as our on-site Plant Centre Officer in the Spring of 2018.

Clare has worked in retail, care, cleaning, driving and customer service and has been an active supporter of All Creatures Great and Small for the past 15 years.

Robert Harrison

Driver

Robert worked as a printer for over 40 years. He began volunteering for the sanctuary before progressing to a paid position in 2018.

Heather Short

Charity Shop Co-ordinator

Heather joined the team originally as fundraiser for the charity, following a successful background in sales and within the travel industry. She can be contacted at either Risca or Usk shops on 01291 672099 or 01633 614446
