Merlin is a failed sheepdog that has found himself in Rescue.
About me
- Can I live with other dogs? Potentially - Merlin has come from a farm setting where he lived with 3 other Collie's. He could potentially live with another resident dog but this is subject to his neutering.
- Can I live with teenagers? Yes
- Can I live with young children? Potentially - The children within the home would need to have previous experience of living with a larger breed.
- Do I have any medical issues? Potentially - Merlin is currently awaiting a health check - Friday 17th January - Caerleon Vets
- Can I live with cats? No
- Am I good on the lead? Yes - Merlin is already undertaking loose lead walk training. He is very responsive to his handlers.
Merlin, our handsome, energetic young lad is on the hunt for an active, fun-loving home. If you are someone with Collie experience, who loves the great outdoors, attending exciting hikes & has a thrill for training, then this boy could well be the perfect companion for you!
Merlin adores every person he meets. He is always enthusiastic to say hello & will greet them with a big hug & a few face licks. He loves to jump up, so a confident family who do not mind this would be best. Being a collie, Merlin is super eager to learn & holds a lot of intelligence. He is highly motivated by toys, high value treats are second best!
He will require adopters who can dedicate the time to his basic training & to further his skill set. He is a very clever boy who wants to keep his brain busy. As Merlin has come from a farm setting, he is used to living outside on straw bedding, ACGAS can aid in the assistance of transitioning him into a home environment.
