Snookie
Snookie is an elderly boy who has already been through so much. He arrived at the Sanctuary 1 day before New Years Eve.
About me
- Can I live with other dogs? Potentially - Until November 2024, Snookie lived with a Shih Tzu.
- Can I live with teenagers? Yes
- Can I live with young children? Yes
- Do I have any medical issues? Yes - Snookie is awaiting: - Dental - Bloods to test for Cushing's Disease - Medication monitoring to improve mobility
- Can I live with cats? Potentially - Snookie has never lived with a cat but due to his age, gentle temperament & mobility issues, he may be able to live with a dog savvy cat. Please note - we can only accept applications from a household where the cat has lived with a dog before, without issue.
- Am I good on the lead? Yes - Snookie walks at a VERY slow & leisurely pace.
Snookie was originally from All Creatures in 2012. His owner has sadly passed away which has resulted in him returning to the same kennel he called home 13 years ago.
Upon arriving to the Sanctuary, it became clear how poor Snookie’s mobility was. He can barely walk 5 steps without a wobble. With his new medication on a daily basis, we are now hoping to see some improvement in the next coming weeks.
Snookie also has rotten teeth which will be treated via a dental appointment at the end of January.
Despite his medical issues, he still becomes excited every time he sees his lead & is always super happy to see his handlers. He is a very active boy at heart with so much more to give.
All this little lad needs is a calm, tranquil home where he can potter around to his hearts content. He enjoys the comforts of a sofa but sadly his little legs won’t allow him to jump anymore, therefore, a home with a large comfy dog bed with plenty of fluffy blankets is a must!
