About me

  • Can I live with other cats? Potentially - Tuna has never cohabited with another cat, but he remains unbothered by the other cats in the cattery. He might be compatible with another that has a similar temperament.
  • Can I live with dogs? No - Tuna has never lived with a dog before.
  • Can I live with teenagers? Yes
  • Can I live with young children? No - Since Tuna has always lived with one adult in a calm environment, a home without children would be most suitable for him.
  • Do I have any medical issues? Potentially - Tuna has a sensitive stomach and is currently on a special ID diet, which we obtain from the vet; it is also available for purchase online. For now, bland food is the best option for him. After a thorough health check, the vet has confirmed that he is in good health, so his occasional stomach flare-ups may simply be a result of stress from being in a cattery environment. We believe these should improve once he settles into a new home. Tuna is booked in for a dental on the 28th March 2025, he is also having a heart scan to rule out any abnormalities.
  • Can I live as an indoor cat? No - Tuna has always had the opportunity to go outside. While he didn't use a cat flap in his previous home, he navigates the one in our cattery with no issues. According to the relatives of his late owner, Tuna would frequently venture outside in the evenings and would scratch at the door when he wanted to be let out.

Tuna is a laid-back cat, approximately 5 years old, who dreams of a peaceful life. He arrived at the Sanctuary following the passing of his owner, having been left in an unoccupied home. Family members made regular visits to care for him during this difficult time.

Unfortunately, Tuna is not fully litter trained and will require some assistance in this area. His family mentioned that this has been a consistent issue, even during his time with his previous owner.

Tuna enjoys attention but prefers it on his own terms. He is not fond of excessive handling but appreciates gentle head scratches and a slow approach. We believe he would thrive in an adult-only home without children, as this aligns with his previous living situation.

If you’re looking for a serene companion, Tuna could be the one for you!
